Bio

YıldızSarah Güventürk is a dancer who works internationally as a dancer, choreographer and teacher. She completed her BA in dance at Yildiz Technical University, and studied as an exchange student at Folkwang University of Arts. As a Fulbright fellow, she graduated from The Ohio State University Department of Dance, MFA in 2021. Her thesis “Corpus – Can We Just Dance? Creative Intimacy and Queer as Process” focuses on how personal and professional relationship come together in and foster the collaborative creative processes. Since 2021, Yıldız works with dancers as well as artists from other disciplines (music, video, photography, poetry) in interdisciplinary settings to carry on her research. Evin halleri var (2021) with Mert Kamiller (musician), This is a little bit of yesterday (2022) with Yeşim Coşkun (dancer), Nexus-Doku (2023) with Juan Castrillón (director) and Water Clouds (2025) with Tamara McCarty (dancer) are some of the duets she created over the last four years. Exploring different modalities of creation, she values what each collaborator brings and how they transform the outcome. Trained mainly in Limón, Release Technique and Floorwork, Yıldız teaches a hybrid technique class where she emphasizes body awareness, strength and flexibility; allowing students to grow at their own pace while providing challenges to rise to. For creative practice classes, she encourages interdisciplinary approach and collaboration where students develop a critical eye through peer feedback and groupwork.
