Dr. Tülin Kaya received her PhD in Settlement Archaeology from Middle East Technical University (METU) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Lale Özgenel (METU) and with Prof. Dr. John Haldon (Princeton) serving as co-advisor, following an MA in Archaeology and a BA in History from Gazi University (Ankara). She has participated in numerous archaeological excavations and survey projects across Türkiye, including fieldwork in Çorum, Erzurum, Nevşehir and Bolu. Her experience includes the BTC Co. – British Petroleum (BP) Crude Oil Pipeline salvage excavation project and the Avkat Archaeological Project, a collaborative initiative involving Princeton University (USA), College of Charleston (USA), and Trent University (CA). Through her work on excavation and regional survey projects, she has developed extensive expertise in archaeological field methods, settlement analysis, landscape interpretation and cultural heritage documentation. Additionally, she completed an AS in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at Istanbul University through a summer internship, developing skills in DEM analysis, 3D spatial analysis, and buffer analysis using ArcGIS and QGIS, thereby expanding her expertise in spatial technologies and geospatial data analysis.
