Bio

Emad Abouata Amlashi holds a PhD in Communication and Media Studies, specializing in Cinematic Virtual Reality and immersive storytelling. His research explores cinematic VR, film philosophy, narrative aesthetics, embodiment, and collaborative authorship. Integrating thinkers such as Bergson, Deleuze, Barthes, and Ricoeur with practice-based methodologies, He has published peer-reviewed articles in international journals, including Convergence and the Journal of Screenwriting, on VR narrative design and ethics, and has presented research at global conferences on immersive storytelling and digital media. He is the developer of the Collaborative Narrative Model (CNM), a theoretical framework for participatory and immersive storytelling.

Alongside academia, he is a filmmaker, visual artist, and the Founder/Director of the ARUCAD Cinematic Seeds International Film Festival, and leads multiple interdisciplinary creative initiatives.
